Guest of Honor, Mr HO Suen Wai, Francis, JP, together with the representatives from our Conference
Organizer, Co-Organizer, Key Supporting Organization, other Supporting
Organizations and our favorable guests, will host the Opening Ceremony to be
held in the morning of the first day of the BME 2006.

Francis Ho has been closely associated with the industrial and technological development of Hong Kong. He was Director General of Industry from 1996 to 2000 and Commissioner for Innovation and Technology between 2000 and 2002. In these capacities, Mr. Ho was responsible for the formulation and execution of pioneer programmes strengthening Hong Kong's applied R&D activities and institutions, promoting corporate R&D, fostering technology entrepreneurship and developing technological infrastructure. As Permanent Secretary of the Commerce, Industry and Technology Bureau, his portfolio of responsibilities covers telecommunications, broadcasting, information technology, e-government, film and innovation and technology policies and programmes.
