Programme Objective﹕

OSS Porting is the Government sponsored programme to provide technical and marketing support to Hong Kong's Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) to enter into the Open Source Software (OSS) business in both Hong Kong and the Mainland China market by migrating their existing software products to OSS platform.

Who can benefit?

ISVs will benefit from the growing demand for OSS application solutions. More business end-users in Hong Kong and Mainland, including enterprises in the Pearl River Delta (PRD) region will also benefit from more choices of software application solutions.

What support services available?
  • Technical consultancy and support from the Hong Kong Open Source Software Centre (HKOSSC)
  • Technical training on migration methodology and skills by OSS experts.
  • Access of fully-equipped development suite at HKOSSC with advanced hardware and software, including testing servers, OSS platforms, development tools
  • Technical facility and technical service support from Guangdong Linux Centre (GDLC) for migration project work done in Mainland China
  • Technical help-desk hotlines support
  • Software and OSS platform compliance testing service
  • Marketing and business matching service in Hong Kong and Mainland China
