More than 300 representatives from the manufacturing and business sectors today (17 September 2007) attended the "Seminar on LED Lighting Technology: New Lighting Applications for Energy Saving" |
The event is HKPC's latest initiative to promote the adoption of light-emitting diode (LED) lighting technology to answer the call for energy conservation. |
To promote LED applications and support local small and medium-sized enterprises to overcome the technical barrier in the deployment of the technology, HKPC spearheaded the establishment of a LED Lighting Application Consortium, with members from major international technology players and manufacturers. |
The first LED lighting solution developed by HKPC was also introduced. With saving in electricity consumption of up to 40% and a lifespan of up to 22 years, the new solution can directly replace the two-foot fluorescent lighting unit commonly used in commercial and industrial premises. |
