Time and resources are managed mostly manually in the development and application of moulds in Hong Kong, underscoring the weakness of many local enterprises in mould management, a new survey shows.
The study, aimed to investigate current issues about mould management and identify good practices adopted by different companies and industries, also reveals that any enterprises expect to benefit from computerization of their mould management systems.
The survey was conducted by HKPC as part of a project known as "Establishing a Mould Management and Operation Framework to Enhance the Competitiveness of SME Manufacturers in Various Industries".
Supported by the SME Development Fund, the project is being undertaken by the Federation of Machinery and Metal Industries Limited with HKPC as the implementation agent.
