Textile and garment manufacturers may be troubled by the problems associated with using traditional hand-knitting machines for multi-colour knitting. For example, the need for operators to memorize knitting patterns and steps can easily lead to mistakes, resulting in material wastage, low output levels and poor product quality.
But these problems can be resolved by using the Electronic Knitting Instruction Device (EKID) developed by HKPC.
This machine displays knitting instructions to save operators the trouble of memorizing the required knitting patterns. These instructions are displayed as 9-segment codes rather than words, transcending language barriers and making the device suitable for different countries. The EKID also generates an alert sign whenever a change in the setup or knitting patterns is needed.
Moreover, the device monitors the quality of output and eases the stress on operators especially during the knitting of complicated patterns. It minimizes human errors and reduces costs. The machine also measures the output quantities of the operators and displays such data.
