Quality Seawater Logo Holder

Seafood restaurants / sales outlets that utilize seawater from Accredited Quality Seawater Suppliers or prepare their own synthetic seawater using marine salts and tap water are eligible to apply for and post the Quality Seawater Logo in their premises to inform their customers that their seawater is quality-assured.
Accredited Quality Seawater Suppliers are also eligible to apply and post the Quality Seawater Logo in their premises.

What are the Accreditation Criteria?


The major requirements are:
		Acquiring seawater from Accredited Quality Seawater Suppliers or preparing it from marine salts and tap water
		An effective filtration and disinfection system should be in place
		Timely equipment cleansing and maintenance should be performed
		Proper records in respect of the source of seawater, acquisition of marine salt/synthetic seawater, usage of marine salt and equipment cleansing and maintenance should be kept

How is the accreditation status granted and maintained?

The Accrediting Body will conduct document and record evaluation to assess if the applicants are acquiring seawater from Accredited Quality Seawater Suppliers or prepare their own synthetic seawater using marine salts and tap water, as well as on-site evaluation to verify the adequacy of their filtration and disinfection systems. Accredited Quality Seawater Suppliers need not go through such evaluation.

Accreditation status which is valid for one year will be granted to successful applicants together with a Quality Seawater Logo. The accreditation status can be renewed annually subject to compliance with the accreditation criteria during the year. The Accrediting Body may make such publication or announcement as it may deem appropriate regarding the accreditation of an organization as a Quality Seawater Logo Holder.

Upon granting of the accreditation status, the Quality Seawater Logo Holder should continue to comply with the accreditation criteria. The Accrediting Body may conduct unscheduled audit of the Quality Seawater Logo Holder when deemed necessary.
