Partnership Objectives:
To advance the knowledge of the arts, sciences, standards, and engineering practices connected with the development, design, construction, and use of self-propelled machines, prime movers and related equipment
To help Hong Kong's auto parts and accessories manufacturers tap the US market through the World Congress, the largest original equipment parts, components and service exhibition in the world, held by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE)
Nature of Partnership:
The Hong Kong Auto Parts Industry Association and the Society of Automotive Engineers – Hong Kong, together with the Hong Kong Productivity Council, organized a study mission from 10 to 17 April 2005 to visit seven USA and Canadian manufacturers of automotive parts, plastic and sheet metal products, moulds and dies.
The Delegation also visited the 2005 SAE 100th Anniversary Exhibition & Congress, where more than 800 companies from different countries exhibited the latest automotive technologies and products. Twenty companies from the Hong Kong automotive industries showcased their products at the Hong Kong Pavilion.
