Mr Mohamed D. Butt
Mohamed D. Butt has over 30 years of experience managing large transformational projects in collaboration with private and public sectors over a wide range of multi-national businesses, He brings to HKPC a wealth of leadership experience, deep industry and customer knowledge in infrastructure, industrial and consumer sectors from his previous senior executive positions.
Mohamed boasts rich business insights and remarkable track record of enabling customer success thanks to his over 20-year experience with General Electric (GE). Before joining HKPC, Mohamed was President & CEO of GE’s Transportation Business in Asia Pacific region for 5 years, providing strategic leadership and expanding business footprint. Prior to that, he served as President & CEO of GE Lighting Asia from 2010-2012 and GE Security Asia from 2008-2010.
Mohamed started his career with GE in 1995 with GE Appliance Asia, where he progressed to leadership roles ranging from Product Planning, Marketing Development to Global Sourcing, with the role expanded to cover GE Consumer Products in 2002. In 2003, he was leading the Global Sourcing in GE Industrial Asia.
Mohamed D. Butt graduated in 1984 from Winona State University, Minnesota with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He received his MBA from Kellogg School of Management and The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2007. Mohamed joined HKPC in Dec 2017.
Mr Edmond Lai Shiao-bun
Director, Business Development
Mr. Lai worked in General Electric (GE) for 22 years. He started in GE as a management trainee in Information Technology department. After finishing the 2-year management trainee program, he switched to internal audit and finance function and had several assignments in various countries (United States, Greater China, Singapore, Japan, Australia, Switzerland, etc) and business units (Plastics, Healthcare, Capital, Power, Aviation, Transportation, etc). After working in internal audit and finance for 8 years, he started commercial and business management roles progressively taking bigger regional or global profit & loss responsibility in various business units for different industries (rail, mining, renewable energy, marine, energy storage, thermal power generation, etc). Mr Lai has hands-on experience in leading a sizable organization in i4.0 transformation and digital products development.
Mr Lai obtained Bachelor of Engineering (Computer Engineering) and Master of Philosophy (Computer Science) degrees from the University of Hong Kong. Mr Lai joined HKPC in 2018.
Dr Lawrence Cheung Chi-chong
Director, Technology Development
Dr. Lawrence Cheung has over 25 years of experience in research and development, consultancy and business. He manages a broad business portfolio on technological research and development as well as consultancy services in automotive, smart electronics, robotics and automation, medical devices, environmental management, smart materials and manufacturing technology and testing services etc.
He is currently the Vice Chairman of Hong Kong Wireless Technology Industry Association; Honorary Advisor of the Hong Kong Electronics and Technologies Association; an executive committee member of the Hong Kong Electronic Industries Association; an executive committee member of the Hong Kong Modern Enterprise Integration and Innovation Association; Member of Innovation and Technology Training Board of Vocational Training Council.
Prior to joining HKPC, Dr. Cheung was living in Australia holding a senior research post in Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) of Australia. He obtained Bachelor of Engineering with honours and Bachelor of Science degrees from Monash University in Australia. His doctorate degree was also from Monash University. Dr. Cheung joined HKPC in 1996.
Mr Gordon Lo Siu-chung
Director, Business Management
Mr. Gordon Lo has over 30 years of experience in business management and IT consulting. His portfolio spans strategic planning, solution evaluation, feasibility study, process improvement, system integration, service innovation and supply chain management, etc. Major clients include listed companies, manufacturers, retailers, banks, telecom companies, NGOs and various Government departments.
Prior to joining HKPC, Mr Lo worked in international IT companies for more than ten years. He is currently member of ICT Services Advisory Committee of Trade Development Council; member of Advisory Panel on Retail Manpower Development of Commerce and Economic Development Bureau; member of Committee of IT Training & Development of Vocational Training Council; member of Joint Committee on Information Technology for the Social Welfare Sector of Social Welfare Department; member of Small & Medium Enterprise Committee of Trade and Industry Department; advisor of Technology Development Committee of Federation of HK Industries; member of Digital, Information & Telecommunications Committee of Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce and council member of Hong Kong Computer Society.
Mr. Lo is a Certified Professional IT Project Director [CPIT(PD)]. He obtained a Diploma of Imperial College and a Master of Science degree from University of London. Mr. Lo joined HKPC in 1997.
