To recycle greywater collected from basins and the condensation of its campus air-conditioning system for irrigation purposes.
Greywater is the wastewater discharged from baths, showers and hand-wash basins. Unlike domestic sewage, greywater is relatively less polluted. Thus, it can be recycled and reused for specific purposes without going through complex treatments and complicated operations.
The system came into operation and was the first and largest full-scale greywater recycling system in Hong Kong.
