The establishment of Hong Kong Association of Interactive Marketing (HKAIM) is to bridge the gap between the advertising and the technology sectors, to identify standard and regulations within the industry in Hong Kong, and promote the value and success of interactive marketing to public community.
Industry reflects that this is difficult to hire new blood and nurture talent
Graduates reflect that this is difficult to enter the industry as digital advertising companies need experienced staff members and reluctant to hire new graduates
To meet these needs, HKAIM has partnered with HKPC to launch the first Digital Advertising Industry Graduate Support Scheme in 2012, the project was:
- to establish an online platform which graduates could upload CV and portfolio of creative works, and digital advertising companies can access to facilitate recruitment process
- to organize recruitment events to help graduates to learn about the industry and find jobs
- to provide funding support to digital advertising companies to allocate resources to train and nurture new blood in the industry
57 jobs were offered throughout the program with over 70% of them retaining in the industry after 12-month training period
Over 95% of graduate employees agrees that the overall Scheme is excellent/ very satisfactory/ satisfactory
A graduate employee was rewarded as “Best Employee of the Year” within her first year of employment in the company
Participating digital advertising companies agree the program was excellent platform to help them to find a job in the industry, also good for them to understand and practice their digital knowledge learned during study and internship.
