Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is widely adopted nowadays. It is considered as an expensive but indispensable tool for modern organizations. Any problems with a core system can greatly impact the whole operation. Good quality assurance, testing, management and governance are the keys to ensure the effective use of ICT. Certification is an important bench marking tool to ascertain if a product or process meets some specific requirements, and is considered to be a facilitator to enhance an industry. Though certification for ICT industry is not popular in Hong Kong, its potential to help the industry should be great.
Managed by the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC), the Software Testing and Certification centre (HKSTCC) aims to
- Promote the awareness of quality assurance, testing, management and governance for the ICT industry in Hong Kong;
- Enhance technical capability of ICT organizations and practitioners in Hong Kong in the areas of quality assurance, testing, management and governance;
- Act as an information sharing platform on the latest developments of quality assurance, testing, management and governance for the ICT industry; and
- Facilitate the exploration and development of testing and certification services for the ICT industry in Hong Kong.
