Single Point Diamond Machining (SPDM) is a material removal process in which a single-crystal natural diamond cutting tool is used to generate surface on a non-ferrous substrate to have submicron dimensional tolerances.

The superior surface finish and form accuracy of ultra-precision diamond turning allow the technology to be widely adopted for the manufacturing of a variety of precision mechanical and optical parts.

Ultra precision machining based on single point diamond turning is a machining process making use of a monocrystal diamond cutting tool which possesses nanometric edge sharpness, form reproducibility and wear resistance.

Specification
  • Maximum swing capacity of diameter 200mm
  • Resolution of machine to be 10nm
  • Attainable surface roughness of workpiece under 10nm
  • Form error for NiCu inserts is less than 200nm and less than 400nm for plastic lens prototype
