"LogTech Expo 2025" Successfully Held with Over 1,000 Attendees Exploring Innovative Opportunities in Logistics Industry Echoing Policy Address Measures to Help Hong Kong Build a Sustainable International Smart Logistics Hub

(22 September 2025, Hong Kong) Organised by the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) and funded under the Transport and Logistics Bureau’s “Logistics Promotion Funding Scheme (LPFS)” within the “Maritime and Aviation Training Fund”, the “LogTech Expo 2025” successfully concluded last Friday (19 September). The expo aims to provide full support for the intiatives in the “2025 Policy Address” recently announced by the HKSAR government to strengthen Hong Kong's position as an international shipping centre. These initiatives include developing a digitalised port system, creating a green maritime fuel bunkering centre, better harnessing the strengths of high value-added maritime services, and supporting modern logistics development.

This year, the expo focused on five critical areas for high quality development in Hong Kong’s logistics industry: New Productive Forces, Low-altitude Economy, ESG and Sustainability, Transport and Logistics, and Smart Supply Chain Management. These areas closely align with the directions in the Policy Address to promote the greening and digitisation of ports and establish a modern logistics circle, providing the industry with concrete technical pathways and solutions to implement policies. As one of Hong Kong's pillar industries, trade and logistics accounts for 18.8% of the city’s GDP. The “LogTech Expo 2025,” in its fourth edition this year, has become the annual flagship event of the logistics industry in Hong Kong. The event attracted over 1,000 participants, more than doubling the number from last year. Over 60 exhibitors showcased cutting-edge logistics technology such as smart logistics, green supply chains, and digital solutions, reflecting the industry’s pressing interest and growing demand for technology application and innovative transformation.

Dr Lawrence CHEUNG, Chief Technology Officer of HKPC, said in his opening remarks that, “Amidst global economy restructuring and supply chain transformation, Hong Kong, as a key gateway connecting the Mainland with global trade, is embracing new development opportunities. This year’s Policy Address has emphasised leveraging Hong Kong’s international advantages to help enterprises 'go global'. More and more Mainland enterprises are actively exploring the Belt and Road Initiative and global south markets. Hong Kong’s logistics industry not only plays a critical bridging role but is also a driving force for high-quality transformation. This year, HKPC established ‘The Cradle – Go Global Service Centre' to assist local and Mainland enterprises in effectively entering overseas markets, thereby unlocking more high-quality development opportunities for the logistics industry. With the dual demands for efficiency and sustainability in the future of transportation and logistics, I believe the industry can explore innovative technology solutions at the 'LogTech Expo 2025’, seize transformation opportunities, and prepare for overseas market expansion.”

Mr Kevin CHOI, JP, Permanent Secretary for Transport and Logistics at the Transport and Logistics Bureau of the Government of the HKSAR, said, “The HKSAR Government has consistently placed great emphasis on the development of modern logistics and is committed to developing Hong Kong into a sustainable international smart logistics hub, as reflected in the recently published '2025 Policy Address'. The 'LogTech Expo 2025' serves as an important platform to advance the logistics industry toward the ‘smart development’ direction outlines in the ‘Action Plan on Modern Logistics Development’. The expo not only enables the industry to learn about the latest logistics technology solutions and discuss trends and applications in smart logistics but also aligns closely with Government policies. This synergy allows the industry to better understand policy directions and fully utilise the resources and support provided by the Government.”

At the expo, Harmony SkyTech, a Chinese Mainland drone enterprise with its overseas headquarters in Hong Kong, showcased its latest industrial-grade drone model. A representative from Harmony SkyTech stated that, "Our Mainland business primarily focuses on firefighting applications, while in Hong Kong, we can cater to more diverse demands, such as building inspections and border patrols. This year, we are utilising Hong Kong’s advantages to ‘go global’ and actively expand into the Middle East market, which holds immense potential for future growth." Axis Communications, a Swedish leader in network communications, showcased several AI sensors and smart detection cameras for logistics and warehouse safety, effectively mitigate logistics risks. A representative from Axis Communications noted that, "The HKSAR Government's strong push for smart logistics development has significantly increased demand for warehouse safety management. Our AI camera solutions can effectively support this development by balancing security with operational efficiency". Additionally, Briz EV, an electric motorcycle manufacturer, unveiled a battery-swappable model, set to launch in Hong Kong this year. A Briz EV representative explained that, “This model has been successfully introduced in the Mainland and Thailand, and we are now preparing to enter the Hong Kong market. We will establish a convenient battery-swapping station network across all 18 districts of the city, offering the logistics industry a more sustainable transportation solution.", offering the logistics industry a more eco-friendly and sustainable transportation solution."

The opening ceremony featured expert sharing sessions with industry leaders and specialists discussing the latest logistics technologies and applications, including Mr. Christopher LUK, Head of Intelligent Systems, Centre of Advanced Power and Autonomous Systems (APAS), HKPC; Mr. Henry KO, President of Hong Kong e-Commerce Logistic Association and Honorary Chairman of Flexport Asia; Mr. Jack LEE, COO of GS1 Hong Kong Ltd; Ms. Irene LAU, General Manager of Airport Authority Hong Kong; Mr. Frank YAU, Head of Cargo, Sales Hong Kong & Greater Bay Area of Cathay Pacific; Mr. Stanley LEE, Founding President of the E-Commerce Association of Hong Kong; and Dr. Frank TONG, R&D Director cum Chief Science Officer of the Logistics and Supply Chain MultiTech R&D Centre.
