To realise new industrialisation, the implementation of industry 4.0 (i4.0) is a critically essential step. HKPC possesses professional consultants who are qualified as “Certified i4.0 Trainer & Expert” and “Implementation Consultant” by the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology of Germany, as well as expertise in the integration of artificial intelligence, robots, the Internet of Things and big data, assisting HK industry upgrade and transformation towards i4.0 Smart & Innovative Enterprises.

HKPC can also assist manufacturers planning to set up new smart production lines in Hong Kong to apply the New Industrialisation Funding Scheme (NIFS) and the New Industrialisation Acceleration Scheme (NIAS) under the Innovation Technology Fund (ITF) of the HKSAR Government for financial support. The Government will provide funding on a 1 (Government): 2 (company) matching basis.

The funding ceiling of the NIFS is one-third of the total project cost or HK$15 million, whichever is lower. Each company can have in total 3 project applications and on-going projects under the scheme at any one time to receive total maximum funding of $45 million.

And the NIAS, which launched in Septemebr 2024, provides funding support for enterprises engaging in industries of strategic importance (i.e. life and health technology, artificial intelligence (AI) and data science, and advanced manufacturing and new energy technologies) to set up new smart production facilities in Hong Kong. Each enterprise may have a maximum of two projects approved, receiving up to $200 million in total under the NIAS.

In addition, the Government will provide additional funding for enterprises with approved projects under the NIAS to engage research talent, as well as facilitate such enterprises in employing non-local talent required for setting up or operation of new production facilities in Hong Kong.
