Hong Kong's First "Low-altitude Economy Tech Hall" Set to Open HKPC Propels Hong Kong as an Asia-Pacific Hub for Innovative Low-altitude Applications

(Hong Kong, 25 September 2025) The Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) is committed to advancing a competitive low-altitude economy ecosystem and actively supports the initiatives outlined in the "2025 Policy Address" announced by the HKSAR government. These initiatives aim to position Hong Kong as a hub for low-altitude innovative applications in the Asia-Pacific region. To this end, HKPC will hold a grand opening ceremony on 30 September to launch Hong Kong's first "Low-altitude Economy Tech Hall" (LAE Tech Hall). This marks a new milestone for Hong Kong in airspace innovation and new productivity, creating limitless possibilities in the low-altitude economy.

HKPC has been at the forefront of enhancing the low-altitude value chain. The LAE Tech Hall will be located in the HKPC Building and will showcase nearly 20 cutting-edge technological achievements and innovative applications from Hong Kong and mainland enterprises. The LAE Tech Hall will showcase the entire low-altitude economy industry value chain, including technical standard setting, materials and manufacturing technologies, manned electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft (eVTOL), medium drone technology, low-altitude digital infrastructure, air traffic management, geographic information systems, and various application scenarios. Additionally, the LAE Tech Hall will offer hands-on experiences with small drones, allowing visitors to personally experience the allure of cutting-edge technology

As a Technical Partner for the Low-altitude Economy Regulation Sandbox exercise chaired by the Working Group on Developing the Low-altitude Economy (“WG”), HKPC plays a pivotal role in providing technical evaluation, data analysis, and cross-departmental coordination for sandbox pilot projects. This support facilitates the synchronised development of regulations and industry. The LAE Tech Hall will continue to support the HKSAR government's "Regulatory Sandbox" pilot project by offering a policy testing space that allows businesses, research and development entities, and academic institutions to conduct business trials and regulatory explorations in a controlled environment, thereby accelerating the development of the low-altitude economy.

The establishment of the LAE Tech Hall marks a significant step for Hong Kong in the low-altitude economy sector, injecting strong momentum into innovation and technology development in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area. This initiative aims to deepen connections between industry and the low-altitude economy, promote collaborative innovation, and drive the flourishing development of the low-altitude economy.

We welcome industry partners to visit the LAE Tech Hall to exchange ideas and encourage the public to come and explore the technological achievements in the low-altitude economy. Detailed information on booking arrangements for visits will be announced later, so please stay tuned.
