(Hong Kong, 16 June 2026) — The Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) has been actively aligning with the national development strategy and the HKSAR Government’s talent initiatives to build Hong Kong as an international hub for high-calibre talent. Through its two seasonal internship programmes each year, HKPC connects outstanding university students from around the world to participate in innovation and technology (I&T) practices in Hong Kong. This year, HKPC’s Summer InnoTalent Programme (the “Programme”) received over 3,300 applications from university students in Hong Kong, Chinese Mainland, and overseas, an increase of nearly 30% compared to last year, reflecting the Programme’s growing appeal among young global I&T talent.
After multiple rounds of rigorous selection, 42 outstanding interns have been chosen to participate in the nine-week Programme, which is about to commence. The selected interns come from world-leading universities, including Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Stanford University, Harvard University, the University of Cambridge, the University of Oxford, Imperial College London, École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Tsinghua University, Peking University, as well as Hong Kong institutions such as The University of Hong Kong, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
HKPC is actively aligning with the national “AI+” initiative and fully supporting the HKSAR Government’s strategy to promote AI development. With AI as its core focus, the Programme enables interns to gain in-depth knowledge of AI technologies and applications, and to design innovative solutions with real-world implementation potential. The interns will present their project ideas at the graduation ceremony in August.
