HKPC Mourns Dr George Shen

(Hong Kong, 22 March 2019) The Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) is profoundly saddened by the passing away of Dr George Shen and conveys its deepest condolences to his family.

As a founding member of HKPC, Dr Shen assisted with its formation and staff recruitment as early as in 1966, which led to the formal establishment of its executive arm, the Hong Kong Productivity Centre, on 1 April 1967, witnessing the early development of HKPC. Shortly after, Dr Shen was seconded to the Asian headquarters of the Asian Productivity Organisation (APO) in Japan. During his tenure there, he continued to help HKPC service Hong Kong businesses, laying down a firm foundation for the long-term development of HKPC whilst contributing to the growth of Hong Kong industry.

HKPC pays its utmost respect to Dr Shen. It will continue upholding the feat of passing the baton to the next generation, and use the knowledgeable Dr Shen as a role model to continue its efforts to help Hong Kong industry reach new heights.
