Two HKPC Staff Tested Preliminarily Positive for COVID-19 HKPC Building will be Closed to the Public until 24 February Related Activities will be Postponed or Cancelled

(Hong Kong, 14 February 2022) The Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) today said that two staff members have preliminarily tested positive for COVID-19. Both of them last worked in the office on 7 February and had worn masks and followed relevant disease prevention measures at work. They were responsible for internal work of the council and had not come into contact with people from outside the council since the Chinese New Year holidays. HKPC had arranged for a professional team to conduct thorough cleaning and disinfection of its office at HKPC Building in Kowloon Tong. It had also arranged for those who have close contact with the relevant staff at work to undergo COVID-19 testing.

Considering the dire epidemic situation, HKPC will continue to implement its special work arrangement. While basic operation will be maintained at HKPC Building, it will be closed to the public. Except for those involved in the provision of emergency services, other staff can work from home (WFH) as arranged by their supervisors. Most projects, services and daily operation will stay normal and continue as usual. However, some such as testing services may be affected due to the WFH arrangement. Members of the public can still contact HKPC staff by telephone or email. The arrangements will be implemented tentatively until 24 February.

All HKPC venues, including Inno Space and HKPC Academy will be closed to the public until 24 February. Its venue rental services will be suspended during the period. All scheduled training programmes will be held online or postponed. Visitor programmes and related activities will be postponed until further notice. Also, to protect public health and fully support the HKSAR Government’s anti-epidemic policy, HKPC announced that starting from 24 February, all persons (including HKPC staff, contractor staff, visitors and the public, except those with exemption) will be required to show their vaccination record with at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine for entering the HKPC Building. Under the new arrangement, individuals who are ineligible for vaccination due to age will be exempted, and those unfit for vaccination due to health reasons must present the relevant medical proof that is issued within the last three months and a valid proof of negative polymerase chain reaction-based nucleic acid test result within 72 hours issued by a government-recognised testing institution for entry.

HKPC has been strictly implementing disease prevention measures during the epidemic and has provided its staff with masks and other personal protective equipment. Staff members are reminded to pay attention to personal hygiene and to stay vigilant. They should seek medical advice immediately if feeling unwell.
