HKPC and HKAGE Co-organise “TechEd STEM: TecHunt Game Day” to Offer Immersive Technology Experience for 200+ Primary and Secondary Gifted Students to Master FutureSkills

(Hong Kong, 19 August 2022) The Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) recently organised a 2-day “TechEd STEM: TecHunt Game Day” with four interactive TecHunt workshops for 280 primary and secondary student members from The Hong Kong Academy for Gifted Education (HKAGE). The overall response was overwhelming. The event aims at equipping the gifted students with knowledge on the latest technologies such as 5G technology, Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Robotics, as well as Industry 4.0 and the Internet of Things (IoT) through different games, so as to prepare them for the Digital Era and future workplace.

The participants of “TechEd STEM: TecHunt Game Day” must complete the missions at 7 checkpoints scattered in HKPC Building within a specified timeframe. Throughout the game, student members have to apply their knowledge in technology and demonstrate their teamwork to tackle the challenges in the shortest time. They also visited the Green Hall to learn more about the latest Smart City development and Green Technology solutions. Through exchanging ideas with young engineers from HKPC, the students were able to learn more about the career path and job opportunities of technology talents. During the sharing sessions, both students and tutors shared their insights and suggestions towards local innovation and technology (I&T) development, thus enhancing students’ confidence in presentation and arousing their interest in I&T.
