HKPC Achieves Remarkable Success at China International Industry Fair Empowering New Industrialisation with AI Leading 54 Hong Kong Enterprises to Explore International Markets

(Hong Kong, 26 September 2025) The Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) has reaped fruitful results from its debut at the China International Industry Fair (CIIF) 2025 in Shanghai. As the only Hong Kong public organisation to participate, HKPC joined over 3,000 industrial and technology organisations from around the world, and led a delegation of 54 Hong Kong enterprises to attend the CIIF. We have showcased cutting-edge applications of artificial intelligence (AI) and smart manufacturing achievements, fostering nationwide enterprises to seize new opportunities in new productive forces and going global, and to actively collaborate with the industry towards internationalisation.

Centred on smart manufacturing and new productive forces, this year's CIIF has attracted industry leaders, enterprises, and investors from across the globe for exchange and collaboration. HKPC prominently displayed numerous self-developed innovative solutions across four key areas: Agentic AI, Robotics, Microfactory, and Green Technology. These exhibits garnered significant attention and enthusiastic responses from visitors, experts, and enterprise representatives. HKPC's participation in CIIF not only served as a prime showcase of Hong Kong's innovation and technology (I&T) achievements, but also signified Hong Kong's proactive role as a “Super Value-Adder”, deeply integrating its innovation capabilities into the national development strategy, injecting crucial impetus for cultivating new productive forces and building a modern industrial system.

Hon Sunny TAN, Chairman of HKPC, said, “We are thrilled to participate in the CIIF for the first time, engaging in in-depth exchange with industry leaders, enterprises, and investors from around the world, and showcasing Hong Kong's latest innovative achievements in AI and robotics, among other fields. The exhibition not only garnered significant international attention for Hong Kong's I&T prowess and the 'Made in Hong Kong' brand image, but also forged opportunities for local enterprises to connect and foster collaboration with partners from the Chinese Mainland and overseas. In alignment with national policies and the HKSAR Government's Policy Address, which was released last week, HKPC is fully committed to accelerating the application of frontier technologies such as AI, new industrialisation, new energy, and the low-altitude economy, alongside advancing the intellectual property economy. Our mission is to empower enterprises to enhance efficiency and accelerate industrial upgrading. Furthermore, we are proactively inviting Chinese Mainland enterprises to leverage Hong Kong's platform for going global through 'The Cradle—Go Global Service Centre'(The Cradle), in collaboration with national technology innovation centres and partners in Zhongguancun, the Yangtze River Delta, and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. This initiative provides comprehensive support for enterprises nationwide to go global, leveraging Hong Kong's distinctive advantage as a pivotal bridgehead for the nation's development of new productive forces.”

Focusing on Cutting-Edge AI Smart Manufacturing: Excellent R&D Achievements Empower New Industrialisation
The global manufacturing industry is undergoing profound transformation, with the country’s manufacturing sector accelerating its progress towards high-end, intelligent, and green development. A new wave of technological revolution, with AI at its core, is reshaping the industrial landscape. In August, the State Council released the guideline on implementing the “AI Plus” initiative, outlining the country’s AI development blueprint, aiming to empower high-quality development domestically and promote higher-level opening-up and international cooperation.

As one of the core drivers for cultivating new productive forces and achieving new industrialisation in Hong Kong, HKPC prominently showcased multiple AI-powered smart manufacturing and automation technologies at the expo. Among them, the Agentic AI automation platform “AIM” garnered significant attention. Combining real-time visual AI monitoring, RAG technology, and IoT devices, it offers enterprises a one-stop solution for intelligent decision-making, task assignment, and process optimisation, accelerating the upgrading of smart factories. In addition, smart devices such as AI Autonomous Wheelchair, 3D scanning robot “Inspection Buddy”, and Industrial Humanoid Robot — deeply integrate AI with mechanical automation and other technologies — attracted a large number of Chinese Mainland and overseas enterprise representatives to the booth. Microfactory and Green Technology innovations also became highlights of the exhibition, demonstrating flexible and efficient customised production and environmentally friendly green solutions, further enhancing the international competitiveness and brand value of "Made in Hong Kong".

Strengthening Domestic and International Connectivity: Forging a New Chapter in “Going Global”
Hong Kong, with its unique advantages of “One Country, Two Systems” and enjoying strong support of the country and being closely connected to the world, can assist enterprises in piloting new products and operating models locally, making it an ideal platform for enterprises to go global. At this exhibition, HKPC also organised a delegation of 54 Hong Kong enterprise representatives to learn about CIIF and the nation’s latest I&T landscape. “Future Manufacturing Meetup” and “Industry Network Clusters (Shanghai)” exchange activities were also hosted at the HKPC booth, allowing Chinese Mainland enterprises to understand Hong Kong's international advantages and discuss practical experience and strategies for going global with Hong Kong enterprises. Among them, a representative from Yunji Technology, a Chinese Mainland commercial service robot developer, was invited to share their experience in “going global”, highlighting how The Cradle of HKPC leverages Hong Kong's international scenario to help Yunji better align with international standards, grasp international market trends, and formulate global development paths. The exchange activities attracted over 100 representatives from Government, industry, academia, research, and investment sectors from both the Chinese Mainland and Hong Kong, further promoting the alignment of industrial resources between the two regions, stimulating new ideas for cross-sector collaboration, and accelerating the “going global” of national I&T achievements.

A representative from Hongrita, a Hong Kong enterprise in the molding industry, expressed appreciation of the tech talks HKPC has organised during the Expo. The teck talks covered cutting-edge topics such as Agentic AI, smart manufacturing, AI large language models combined with point cloud technology, and material innovation. The representative had in-depth discussions with attendees on topics like technology implementation, industry applications, and future development, sparking more innovative collaboration inspirations.

Looking ahead, HKPC will continue strengthening collaboration with Government, industry, academia, research, and investment sectors, promoting the commercialisation of R&D achievements and the development of emerging industries, and cultivating new I&T talent to support the comprehensive upgrading of local industries. We aspire to build Hong Kong into a vital hub connecting national and global innovation resources, driving high-quality economic development, and creating new impetus and opportunities for enterprises and society.
