"Achievements of National Aerospace Endeavours" Roving Exhibition Opens at HKPC HKPC’s Deep Tech Innovation Hub Spotlights Hong Kong's Breakthrough Technologies Shaping the Future

(Hong Kong, 31 July 2026) From 1 to 6 August, the exhibition on “Achievements of National Aerospace Endeavours” will be open to the public free of charge at the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC). Visitors will have the opportunity to gain a closer understanding of the nation's achievements in aerospace technology development, as well as the latest contributions made by Hong Kong's research and innovation community to the country's space programme. Coinciding with the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, this exhibition is part of a city-wide tour and highlights the country’s breakthrough progress in deep space exploration, satellite applications, and space science research—witnessing the nation's aerospace advancement towards new milestones.

In recent years, Hong Kong has actively integrated into the nation's aerospace development strategy, leveraging its strengths in research and talent. With the successful launch of the Shenzhou-23 manned spacecraft, and Dr LAI Ka Ying—the first payload specialist from Hong Kong—on board conducting missions in the China Space Station, Hong Kong’s vital role and development potential in the nation’s aerospace blueprint have become increasingly prominent. Through a rich array of exhibits and interactive displays, the exhibition showcases not only major milestones in the nation's aerospace development, but also the achievements of Hong Kong's research community in contributing to major national scientific and technological projects, thereby enhancing public understanding of and pride in the country's scientific and technological achievements, while inspiring the younger generation to pursue an interest in aerospace technology and scientific innovation.

Speaking at the exhibition’s opening ceremony, Mr Emil YU Chen-on, BBS, JP, Deputy Chairman of HKPC, said, “HKPC has actively supported the nation's drive to advance aerospace technology. For three consecutive years, we have organised the ‘Hong Kong Future Aerospace Technology Talent Training Program’, [MM1.1]providing thematic courses, hands-on experimental activities and expert sharing sessions to inspire local young people to pursue an interest in aerospace technology, while fostering innovative thinking and practical capabilities. In doing so, we are helping cultivate a pipeline of future I&T talent for both Hong Kong and the nation, while supporting Hong Kong's deeper integration into the country's aerospace development strategy. We warmly invite members of the community, academia, industry and the general public to visit the exhibition, witness the nation's remarkable achievements in aerospace development, and experience the new momentum driving Hong Kong's research and innovation in the new era.”

Emil emphasised that Hong Kong is home to world-leading universities and research talent, continuously nurturing a wide range of “0-to-1” deep tech breakthroughs. Leveraging its internationally aligned standards, robust intellectual property protection regime and highly open business environment, Hong Kong is well positioned to transform cutting-edge research into globally competitive industrial solutions. In alignment with the country's forward-looking development of future industries under the 15th Five-Year Plan, HKPC regularly organises technology seminars and provides consultancy services to help enterprises identify and explore commercial applications for deep tech. By helping enterprises scale research outcomes from “1 to N” and accelerate their commercialisation, HKPC supports the transformation of Hong Kong's research strengths into tangible industrial competitiveness, contributing Hong Kong's unique strengths to the nation's future industrial development.

Building on the national technological achievements showcased at the aerospace exhibition, HKPC is also opening its “Deep Tech Innovation Hub”, featuring cutting-edge technologies developed and commercialised by HKPC, demonstrating Hong Kong’s capability in taking innovation from scientific research to industrialisation. Deep tech broadly refers to innovations grounded in breakthroughs in frontier science or engineering. The Hub is focused on five core areas driving the future economy: quantum technology, artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics, new materials, life and health, and green technology and new energy. Highlighted exhibits include Quantum Computing, OmniGrip Manipulator, IsoGel Thermal Nano-Emulsification Technology, Needle-free Vaccination with Electroporation and ANC System: Advanced Wastewater Treatment, etc. The Deep Tech Innovation Hub serves as a matchmaking platform connecting government, industry, academia, research and investment communities for deep-tech showcasing and commercialisation, accelerating the journey of hard technologies from the laboratory to the market.

Furthermore, HKPC participated in the "2026 World AI Conference & High-Level Meeting on Global AI Governance" (WAIC) in mid-July, under the theme "AI Adaption in Manufacturing", featuring innovations in embodied intelligence and quantum computing. These exhibits will also be showcased at the Deep Tech Innovation Hub, demonstrating how AI technologies can be translated from laboratory research into real-world manufacturing applications.
