(Hong Kong, February 10, 2026) The three-day "AI with HKPC" Smart AI Solutions Showcase Series, organised by the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC), has successfully concluded, attracting a cumulative total of over 5,000 representatives from the government, industry, academia and research communities. The final day of the series was held yesterday featured the theme of "AI Driven Solutions for Smarter Property Sharing Session", which showcased a range of artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics technologies developed by HKPC and various partner organisations, aimed at enhancing property management efficiency, optimising resident experience and promoting sustainable urban development. An exhibition area was also setup on site, showcasing more than 20 technologies and products related to the property management industry, including live demonstrations of Hong Kong's first "Water Tank Cleaning Robot", Mobile "Qing Yan" Eco-Furnace, and the "Drone Facade Cleaning".
The Hon Sunny TAN, Chairman of HKPC, said, "The‘15th Five-Year Plan’ Recommendations emphasise the full implementation of the 'AI+' initiative, and the HKSAR Government has also highlighted the promotion of extensive and in-depth integration of AI across various industries to realise Hong Kong's vision of a 'smart city'. Housing and property management are indispensable components in building a Smart City. As a key driving force of digital transformation in local industries, HKPC will support enterprises in accelerating PropTech innovation through technology transfer, practical applications, and product development, thereby promoting high-quality development of smart properties in Hong Kong. We welcome property management companies, hotels, public institutions, and the business community to join hands and collaborate with us to accelerate the deep integration of AI in local scenarios.”
Hong Kong's first "Water Tank Cleaning Robot" enters trial use, partners with JLL to pioneer new directions in smart property management
HKPC has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with JLL, a leading global commercial real estate and investment management company, marking a key milestone in advancing property technology innovation. Hong Kong's first "Water Tank Cleaning Robot", developed by HKPC in collaboration with a local technology company, has successfully completed trials in various buildings managed by JLL, with highly satisfactory results. It is expected to be widely adopted across different types of buildings in the future.
The introduction of the "Water Tank Cleaning Robot" represents a breakthrough for the industry, effectively addressing long-standing pain points in traditional water tank cleaning. It eliminates the need for workers to enter confined and narrow water tanks, thereby improving occupational safety. At the same time, it standardises the cleaning standards of the water tank, increasing cleaning frequency, and ensure better water quality.
Mr Mohamed D. BUTT, MH, Executive Director of HKPC, said, “HKPC is honoured to partner with JLL in applying AI and robotics technologies to address key pain points in the property management industry. Through joint design and rigorous testing, we successfully developed and launched the ‘Water Tank Cleaning Robot’, making the cleaning process safer, more efficient and cleaner while freeing up manpower for higher-value tasks. We adhere to the concept of ‘simple, practical, and deployable’, starting from real-world scenarios to solve actual problems and gradually scaling up. HKPC will deepen collaboration with JLL and the industry to promote solutions in more buildings and explore more viable AI applications. We look forward to working with all sectors to drive deeper integration of AI in property management, advancing digital transformation and sustainable development.”
Mr Chi Hung CHUNG, Head of Property and Asset Management at JLL in Hong Kong, Macau and Korea, said, "Water-tank cleaning is a critical component of property management, yet it often involves high-risk operations carried out within confined spaces. As a pioneer in the sector, JLL remains committed to integrating PropTech solutions to elevate the quality and intelligence of our property management services. We are delighted to collaborate with HKPC and Versatech to develop the 'Water Tank Cleaning Robot'. We can maintain strict adherence to water-quality standards while eliminating safety hazards, embodying our people-centric and safety-first PropTech philosophy. Following the signing of our MoU with HKPC, we will continue to advance smart property solutions and lead the industry towards a safer, more efficient and more sustainable future.”
In addition to the "Water Tank Cleaning Robot", HKPC showcased a number of technical solutions related to the property management industry* during the event, with highlights including:
Through the exhibition, HKPC enabled the property management industry to gain deeper understanding of practical AI use cases across business operations, while also accessing a series of technical solutions and services. HKPC’s self-developed multipurpose AI platform “HKPC Picasso,” aims to respond to the “integration challenges” commonly faced by most enterprises in AI transformation, with "ease of use" as the core concept, providing an end-to-end and executable AI transformation support system for the common needs of different industries. It currently offers six large language model (LLM) modules, over 30 commonly used functional modules, and around 40 applications, supporting rapid development and deployment of smart solutions. This significantly lowers development costs and technical barriers, enabling enterprises to deploy and launch customised AI systems within several weeks. The platform makes AI more accessible, empowering SMEs to kick-start smartification transformation with ease.
