(Hong Kong, 3 February 2026) The Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) and amfori have renewed their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking a new chapter in their strategic partnership. This collaboration aims to further integrate resources and jointly assist enterprises in Hong Kong and the other Greater Bay Area cities in addressing increasingly stringent Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) requirements. It will help companies systematically manage supply chain risks, transform sustainable practices into long-term competitiveness, and enhance market quality and reputation.
The signing ceremony for the MoU took place at the HKPC Building. It was signed by Dr Keith CHOY, General Manager, Green Living and Innovation Division of HKPC, and Ms Linda KROMJONG, amfori President, witnessed by Dr Lawrence CHEUNG, Chief Technology Officer of HKPC, and Mr Hong LEE, amfori Director East Asia and Pacific.
Dr Lawrence CHEUNG, Chief Technology Officer of HKPC, said, “The renewal of the MoU between HKPC and amfori signifies our further commitment to assist enterprises—especially those in Hong Kong and the other Greater Bay Area cities—in addressing the complex demands of ESG and building more sustainable, responsible, and resilient supply chains. This collaboration will focus on providing ESG practical training, supporting key industries such as textiles and toys, and promoting knowledge exchange and resource sharing, helping companies turn sustainability into innovation drivers and market advantages.”
Ms Linda KROMJONG, amfori President, expressed keen anticipation for this collaboration, “Businesses are required to provide clearer evidence of compliance, and this starts with assessing and then managing you supply chain risks, in short robust due diligence. And this leads to better business agility, resilience and competitiveness.” and “Together, amfori and HKPC are moving from awareness to action. We will focus on practical guidance and joint activities that help businesses navigate evolving requirements from the markets and regulatory landscape.”
Under the MoU, both parties will focus on four key collaborative areas over the next two years, including: jointly organising practical training, seminars, and workshops on ESG regulations, risk management, and sustainable supply chains to strengthen corporate ESG capabilities; providing targeted support to the textile and toy industries by offering sustainable toolkits, digital ESG management tools, and best practice cases; facilitating knowledge exchange to help enterprises connect with international sustainable trade networks and relevant resources, while exploring applicable funding channels; and jointly promoting innovative solutions and services that enhance the environmental and social performance of supply chains.
This collaboration will fully leverage amfori’s extensive network of over 2,400 retailers, brands, and importers worldwide, along with its professional ESG risk management and implementation solutions, combined with HKPC’s strong expertise in green technology, smart manufacturing, ESG consulting, and technical R&D. The synergy aims to help enterprises not only meet ESG compliance challenges but also proactively manage risks, building credible and sustainable competitive advantages in the global supply chain.
