HKPC Offers “Special Half Day-off for Childcare COVID-19 Vaccination” Paid Leave to Encourage Staff to Accompany Young Children to Get Vaccinated

The Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC), fully supporting the HKSAR Government’s campaign to encourage parents to arrange the COVID-19 vaccination of their children aged six months to less than three years as early as possible, announces a special half day-off arrangement for staff members to accompany their children receiving jabs.

HKPC’s “Special Half Day-off for Childcare COVID-19 Vaccination” is granted to any staff accompanying their children to receive the vaccination on a working day between 22 August and 31 December. It is also applicable to staff who has taken their children to receive COVID-19 vaccination from 4 to 21 August 2022 with annual leave taken. HKPC envisages other organisations to follow suit and introduce similar arrangements, joining in the efforts to build a protective barrier in Hong Kong.

Mr Mohamed Butt, Executive Director of HKPC, said, “Owing to the rapid spread of the mutant strains of COVID-19 in the community, vaccination for children becomes critical and is effective protection for their health and safety. It deserves every parent’s attention on the health risk posed to children. HKPC greatly values the well-being of its staff and their families and hopes the arrangement can bring greater convenience to the parents in getting their children vaccinated.”
