MAJOR CHALLENGES IN CHINESE MEDICINE, PHARMACEUTICAL AND HEALTH FOOD MANUFACTURING
- The packaging process and appearance need to comply with GMP requirements
- Every significant change in product packaging requires compliance with strict Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements
- Major challenges are encountered when using commercially available machine, particularly for high-speed packaging that must meet the highly precise and intricate manual packaging procedures
- High level compatibility requirement for fully automatic packaging technology with a wide range of packaging materials of different sizes, shapes, materials and colours
- Severe shortage of packaging labour (due to retirement, lack of labour replacement from the younger generation and unstable availability of part-time labour)
