Winners' Showcase of The First Dongguan–Hong Kong Outstanding Manufacturing Enterprise Award Opens Today in Dongguan

The achievements of Hong Kong manufacturers in Dongguan were highlighted at a winners' showcase installed at the new Dongguan Science Technology Centre which was officially opened today (28 December 2005) by Mr Tong Xing, Secretary of the Dongguan Municipal CPC Committee; Mr Liu Zhigeng, Mayor of Dongguan; and Mr Leng Xiaoming, Vice Mayor of Dongguan.

Launched in December 2004, The First Dongguan–Hong Kong Outstanding Manufacturing Enterprise Award was jointly organized by the Dongguan People's Government and the Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong Province, with the Dongguan Science and Technology Bureau, the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) and the International Collaboration Division of the Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong Province as technical organizers.

Fifteen Hong Kong enterprises were honoured under the Award Scheme, whose outstanding achievements were introduced to the Mainland business and industry communities at the winners' showcase organized by the Dongguan People's Government. Their successful practices in corporate strategies, product development, manufacturing technology, and management systems, as well as their contributions to the communities were highlighted. The exhibition is opened to public for one year from now until December 2006.

'The First Dongguan–Hong Kong Outstanding Manufacturing Enterprise Award' aims to recognize the contributions and achievements of Hong Kong manufacturing enterprises to Dongguan and the Pearl River Delta (PRD) at large. Entries came from a wide array of manufacturing sectors, including electrical appliances, electronics, toys, textile and clothing, metals, plastics, critical components, as well as moulding and diecasting.

Winners of the Award include SAE Magnetics (HK) Ltd, Sunray Cave Ltd, Sundart Holdings Ltd, Holmes Products (Far East) Ltd, Chau Leong Enterprise (Group) Ltd, Feng Chuan Tooling Co Ltd, Hoi Po Metal Manufactory Co Ltd, G.E.W. Corporation Ltd, Techtronic Industries Co Ltd, Surface Mount Technology Ltd, Shing Hing Industrial Ltd, Lung Cheong International Holdings Ltd, Luen Thai International Group Ltd, Modern Metal & Refining Ltd, and Pro-Win Machinery Company Ltd.

In addition, an introduction on HKPC and its wholly owned subsidiaries in the PRD was also highlighted at the exhibition.
