HKPC Organizes Quality Management Seminars in Guangzhou

To provide business executives in the Pearl River Delta (PRD) with a better understanding on quality management, the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC), its Mainland subsidiary, the Productivity (Guangzhou) Consulting Co., Ltd. (GZWFOE) and the Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency will organize two free seminars on the 'Lean & Green' and 'ISO+5S' models on 14 September and 16 November 2006 respectively in Guangzhou.

Mr Alex Sun, General Manager of Productivity (Guangzhou) Consulting Co., Ltd., said, "In today's increasingly competitive business environment, quality management is the key to corporate success. Aiming to introduce effective management systems to participants, these seminars can enhance the competitiveness of enterprises."

Highlighting the 'Lean & Green' seminar, he said, "Based on the internationally recognized ISO 9000 quality management standards, HKPC has developed a management system known as 'Lean & Green' which integrates the processes of system analysis, operational improvement and streamlined documentation. Participants will learn how to apply this system to enhance productivity."

In addition, HKPC has developed an approach combining ISO 9001 and the "5S" concept. Mr Sun said, "Based on the concepts of Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize and Sustain, the 5S focuses on effective workplace organization and standardized work procedures. At the 'ISO+5S' seminar, participants will learn about this enhanced management approach which embodies the advantages of both ISO and 5S."

The seminars are designed for business executives and professionals engaging in quality management and the implementation of ISO 9000 series.
