HKPC to Implement Five-day Week in September

The Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) today (21 August 2006) announces the implementation of the five-day week initiative commencing 4 September 2006.

Taking into account the necessity to maintain the quality and level of services to industry and the general public, HKPC will adopt new service hours under the five-day week. In general, the business hours of HKPC from Monday to Friday will be from 9 am to 6 pm, while the office will be closed on Saturdays.

The Training Enrollment Counter, however, will operate from 9 am to 9 pm, from Monday to Friday, and 9 am to 5 pm on Saturday.

While most of HKPC's laboratory and workshop services will adopt the five-day week arrangement, the CAD/CAM Centre, Micro Fabrication Technology Centre, Optics and Opto-Mechatronics Technology Centre, Precision Tooling Technology Centre, Rapid Prototyping Technology Centre, Hong Kong Watch & Clock Technology Centre, Materials Testing Laboratory, and Resource Centre will operate from 9 am to 6 pm, from Monday to Friday, and 9 am to 12 noon on Saturday.
