Tenders Invited for the Development, Pilot Implementation and Service Provision of the On-Board Trucker Information System (OBTIS)

The Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) today (29 December 2006) invites tenders for the development, pilot implementation and service provision of the On-Board Trucker Information System (OBTIS).

Offering a location-based trucking intelligent transport systems solution for the logistics and trucking industry, OBTIS aims to improve the operational efficiency and competitiveness of local industry players. The OBTIS project is jointly initiated by HKPC and the Hong Kong Logistics Development Council (LOGSCOUNCIL) with funding support from the Economic Development and Labour Bureau (EDLB) of the HKSAR Government.

The system framework of OBTIS is expected to become an industry standard eventually involving other stakeholders, including terminals, shippers, and customs authorities. Its design is required to cater to the participation of multi-parties, allowing data exchange among stakeholders. The OBTIS will be rolled out in phases.

Interested parties should submit their tenders to the Tender Box located on the Ground Floor of HKPC Building, 78 Tat Chee Avenue, Kowloon. The deadline for submission is 12:00 noon (Hong Kong Time) on 9 February 2007.

Tender documents are available for collection at the HKPC Building. They can also be downloaded from the HKPC’s website: https://www.hkpc.org.
