Zoom in on Business Collaboration at HKPC’s Newest Platform - The Centrepoint

The business community has a new platform to converge for networking and synergy building with the launch of The Centrepoint, a multi-purpose facility located at the HKPC Building in Kowloon Tong.

Officially opened by Mr Eddy Chan, Commissioner for Innovation and Technology of the HKSAR Government, today (25 January 2008), The Centrepoint is the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC)'s latest initiative to facilitate collaboration among local and Mainland trade organizations and industry partners.

Introducing this new platform, the Hon Andrew Leung, Chairman of HKPC, said, "Under the current challenges, industry players really need to come together and map out new paths for development. As a multi-purpose facility, The Centrepont provides an ambience conducive to business collaborations and industry promotion."

Occupying an area of 290m2, The Centrepoint is complete with over 20 multi-media booths for Centrepoint members to promote their missions and activities; a coffee and business lounge; cyber kiosks equipped with Wi-Fi enabled and Internet facility, real time news and international finance information broadcast; and the Atrium – a cosy venue for seminars. In addition, events such as business matching sessions, seminars and visits will be organized at The Centrepoint to create opportunities for business networking.

As an inaugural event under The Centrepoint, the Hong Kong Far Infrared Rays Association (HKFIRA) hosted the Networking Programme on Far Infrared Rays (FIR) Technology with a seminar on the industrial application of the technology and business opportunities for local manufacturers.

Other officiating guests at the launching ceremony included Dr Samson Tam, Deputy Chairman of HKPC; Mrs Agnes Mak, Chairman, Staffing Committee and Council Member of HKPC; Mr Victor Ng, Chairman, Audit Committee and Council Member of HKPC; Mr Wilson Fung, Executive Director of HKPC; and Mr Clement Chen, Chairman of the Federation of Hong Kong Industries.
