HK-INC Gauges Views on Road Ahead for ICT Industry

The “Hong Kong Industry Network Clusters” (HK-INC), established by the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC), held a consultation session today (23 March 2011) to gauge the views of industry on the future development of Hong Kong’s information and communication technology (ICT) industry.

Addressing the meeting, Mr Clement Chen, Chairman of HKPC, said, “HKPC has been supporting the development of the ICT industry through four core service areas, namely software engineering, industry support, new technology, and business partnership. With rapid changes in technologies and business environment, we need to sharpen our approach to ride out the challenges and seize new business opportunities.”

Mr Chen said, “Building on the foundation of our four ICT core services, HKPC will explore new areas in order to provide a total solution to support the growth of the industry. We will summarize the comments expressed by the industry on these plans and communicate with the Government to help facilitate the formulation of strategies and services to meet their needs.”

Held regularly, the theme-based HK-INC aims to gauge the views of local industry on issues of relevance to their long-term development. Previous meetings on domestic sales, environmental, creative and watch industries, Guangzhou-Hong Kong cooperation, and business inheritance and sustainability, were convened with participants from the Government, trade and industry organizations, business and SME associations.
