HKPC New Brand Heralds Partnership Through Rain or Shine

Celebrating 45 years of fruitful partnership with Hong Kong industry, the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) today (26 October 2012) unveils a new brand identity to mark an important milestone of serving local businesses and the community at large through rain or shine.

Miss Janet Wong, Commissioner for Innovation and Technology of the HKSAR Government, and Mr Clement Chen, Chairman of HKPC, officiated the launching ceremony well attended by more than 200 guests from industry and business associations, enterprises, Government bodies and HKPC’s partner organizations from Hong Kong and beyond.

Sharing the thoughts behind the new brand identity, Mr Chen said, “For the past 45 years HKPC has forged a partnership with industry through rain or shine, which is the very essence of our new brand image.”

Distinguished by the two-toned lines in blue and green, the new corporate logo signifies HKPC’s longstanding partnership with Hong Kong industry in tapping business opportunities and riding out adversity. Incorporating the original emblem, with a contemporary touch, the new logo highlights the continuity of HKPC’s tradition of excellence in professional service for industry.

“HKPC is privileged to serve as the technology and business management partner of local enterprises. Leveraging our multi-disciplinary expertise, HKPC’s professional consultants are committed to supporting enterprises to rise to challenge and change with the times, offering solutions from product development to customer service,” Mr Chen said.

Looking to the future, he said, “HKPC’s vision remains the most preferred productivity partner of industry. With this new brand in this new era, HKPC will continue to join hands with our partners to open up new business horizons.”

Mrs Agnes Mak, Executive Director of HKPC, is confident that the new image will bring the public organization closer to its stakeholders. She said, “It has become a norm that public bodies need to offer services with quality on a par with the private sector, while the standards keep going up. As a communication tool, a brand identity should reflect the development of an organization. With this contemporary, sharp and warm brand identity, HKPC can more effectively communicate our mission and values to the community.”

Developed by brand consultant Mr Tommy Li, HKPC’s new brand identity comes with two spirited mascots – ‘Tec’ and ‘Biz’, who made their debut at the launch together with their creator. These community ambassadors are personification of HKPC’s comprehensive services and customer-oriented culture. ‘Tec’, distinguished by a cube-like body and blue safety goggles, represents HKPC’s technology development services. ‘Biz’, with a round body and a green monocle, represents HKPC’s business management services.

Concurrent to the launch, the “HKPC – Your All-round Productivity Partner Showcase” is being held at the HKPC Gallery. In addition to the new branding story, visitors will find out how HKPC’s one-stop services can add value to the entire business value chain, while benefiting different facets of our daily life.
