HK-INC Explores Strategies on Business Sustainability

Industry leaders from different sectors, representatives from trade and industry organizations and Government officials today (4 May 2012) converged at the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) to explore strategies to help next-generation entrepreneurs sustain their business success and enhance their competitiveness.

Convened by HKPC, this event is its latest “Hong Kong Industry Network Clusters” (HK-INC) consultation session held regularly to gauge the views of industry on issues of relevance to their long-term development.

Mrs Agnes Mak, Executive Director of HKPC, said, “Running a business is like taking part in a marathon, with HKPC being the coach and support staff. For the past years, we have been offering consultancy services to Hong Kong manufacturers on business upgrading and transformation, and helping them build their own brands and open up the Mainland domestic market so that they can grow stronger and be more sustainable.”

She continued, “The meeting agreed that next-generation management can take their business to new heights by integrating their critical success factors with new ideas, and setting up strategies for business upgrading and transformation. We would summarize the comments expressed by the industry and communicate with the Government to help facilitate the formulation of strategies and services to meet their needs.”

Previous HK-INC meetings on domestic sales, Guangzhou-Hong Kong cooperation, information security, as well as on industry sectors including environmental management, creative, watch, information and communication technology, critical components, and toys were convened with participants from the Government, trade and industry organizations, business and SME associations.
