HK-INC Explores Road Ahead for Automotive Parts Industry

The “Hong Kong Industry Network Clusters” (HK-INC) of the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) convened today (19 December 2012) to gauge the views of industry on the development roadmap of Hong Kong’s automotive parts industry.

Addressing the meeting, Mrs Agnes Mak, Executive Director of HKPC, said, “The Mainland automotive industry and market have expanded continuously for the past 20 years, creating unique opportunities for Hong Kong automotive parts industry. To bring out further synergy, the Automotive Parts and Accessory Systems R&D Centre (APAS) was merged with HKPC as one of its divisions in November this year.”

In addition to introducing the R&D results of the automotive parts technology of HKPC, the meeting also exchanged views on potential new R&D projects in areas such as new materials and processes, and electronic controls and software.

Held regularly, HK-INC aims to gauge the views of industry on issues of relevance to their development. Participants include Government officials, trade and industry organizations, business and SME associations.
