HKPC Announces Retirement of Executive Director

The Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) announced today (13 April 2017) that its Executive Director, Mrs Agnes Mak, will retire from the Council upon completion of her current contract on 31 October 2017 after having served in the same capacity since 2010.

Mr Willy Lin, Chairman of HKPC, thanked Mrs Mak for her dedicated efforts in leading the Council in the past seven years. He said, "Mrs Mak has been exemplary in forging a close relationship between the Council and the business sector and in enhancing Hong Kong's competitiveness. My colleagues and I are grateful that under her capable leadership, the Council has laid a solid foundation to help local enterprises transform and upgrade their businesses."

During her tenure, Mrs Mak has substantially strengthened HKPC's corporate governance, infrastructure facilities and support services, introducing a host of innovative technologies such as independent software testing and certification, 3D printing, robotics, industry 4.0 and other smart manufacturing technologies to help local businesses, particularly small and medium enterprises, acquire the necessary technical and management competence to exploit new opportunities in high value-added markets.

Mr Lin added, "All of us in the Council wish Mrs Mak every happiness upon retiring from the Council. We look forward to the Council's further growth and development, building upon the good work of Mrs Mak."

The search process for Mrs Mak's successor will start immediately.
