HKPC Offers “Family Caring Vaccination Day-off”- Paid Leave to Encourage Staff Accompanying Family Members Getting Vaccinated

(Hong Kong, 2 June 2021) The Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC), fully supporting the HKSAR Government’s “Early Vaccination for All” campaign, announces a special day-off arrangement for staff members to accompany family members receiving jabs, as well as paid leaves for staff who are receiving or had received vaccines.

HKPC’s “Family Caring Vaccination Day-off” is granted to any vaccinated staff accompanying a maximum of two immediate family members to receive vaccination between 1 June to 31 August, on a half-day per dose basis (maximum two days) and on their family members’ days of vaccination. HKPC is hoping to stimulate other organisations on launching a similar policy and work together to build a protective barrier in Hong Kong.

Mr Mohamed Butt, Executive Director of HKPC, said, “Family members are the most important after all and it is wonderful if you are able to give immediate support during their vaccinations. HKPC extends its care to the families of its staff. Proactive measures are adopted to facilitate employees and their families who are preparing for vaccination. At the same time, we would like to thank our employees who had received vaccination earlier. We hope these measures will popularise vaccination, which definitely is HKPC’s social responsibility, and enable Hong Kong, as an international financial and innovation & technology centre, to re-open its door to the world sooner.”

HKPC had announced earlier its vaccination incentive program, closely following the Government’s arrangement. Staff members who will take their jabs between 1 June to 31 August or had their vaccination on or before 31 May are eligible to these special day-offs.
