(Hong Kong, 3 October 2024) SMEs are vital to Hong Kong's economy. Given the current economic uncertainty and challenging external environment, local SMEs must plan ahead and seize market opportunities to effectively address these challenges. HKPC is committed to supporting SMEs and has integrated a series of offers and support measures for SMEs, including six key services and offers designed to help SMEs address operational challenges, enhance confidence and increase their overall competitiveness.

In light of the economic hardships and challenges faced by SMEs, HKPC offers a series of key services aimed at enhancing productivity, innovation, and competitiveness. These services include assistance with applying for government subsidies, talent training programmes, and digital solutions to help SMEs prepare for future opportunities and challenges."
Six Key Support Services and Measures for SMEs by HKPC
1-on-1 Funding & Technical Consultation
The SME ReachOut team at HKPC is dedicated to addressing the needs of SMEs by assisting them in finding suitable Government subsidies and resolving application queries. "Tech Buddy" services are available to further address the pain points of SMEs when integrating technologies in their business operations in technical upgrades and provide solutions to meet their specific needs.
Cyber Security Guidelines & Education
The Hong Kong Computer Emergency Response Team Coordination Centre (HKCERT) offers the free-of-charge "Incident Response Guideline for SMEs" to enhance SMEs' cyber security awareness and prevention capabilities. The resources include cyber security alerts and guidelines, phishing detection tools, and a ransomware prevention page.
ESG Assessment Scorecard
ESG One, an initiative by HKPC, promotes awareness and capabilities in ESG among enterprises. By offering free ESG assessments, it aims to foster a sustainable growth and value chain. By working together with the industry, HKPC strives to build an ESG ecosystem and help enterprises fulfil their sustainable development goals.
50% off on HKPC vLearn Platform and the labour portion for consultancy and testing services
A 50% discount is available upon enrolment in designated courses on the online learning platform vLearn. The courses cover topics such as project management, marketing strategies, cyber security, crisis management, ESG, and more, helping SMEs acquire the latest skills.
The discount also applies to the costs for consultant project personnel and testing service personnel, to assist enterprises in new R&D and product testing.
Digital Transformation DIY
"Digital DIY" gathers and matches cost-effective and efficient digital-transformation solutions for SMEs and start-ups. It also offers an “AI-Chatbot” service that provides digital self-assessment tools and recommendations.
Easy Manage Government Funding
The "Biz Expands Easy” (BEE) platform simplifies the application process, enabling users to conveniently view and manage applications for relevant funding programmes in real time.
SME ReachOut: FUND Fair plus Tech Sourcing 2024
To further support SME development, SME ReachOut will co-organise the "SME ReachOut: FUND Fair plus Tech Sourcing 2024" with the Trade and Industry Department of the HKSAR Government on 29 and 30 October 2024, at the HKPC Building. The event will feature government subsidy information, technology solutions, expert consultations, and success stories, providing a one-stop solution for SMEs to address funding, technology, market expansion, ESG, and other challenges. This initiative aims to help SMEs seize market opportunities and inject new momentum for future development.
