(Hong Kong, 17 December 2024) With the rapid development of technology, e-learning has become an important trend in education. Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) has been invited as a collaborative partner of the Quality Education Fund (QEF) to jointly promote the e-Learning Ancillary Facilities Programme (the Programme) funded by QEF, fostering the application of innovation and technology (I&T) in the educational field and enhancing the quality of learning and teaching. The HKPC Academy (the Academy) was delighted to participate in the three-day "Learning and Teaching Expo 2024", where innovative educational technology solutions were showcased under the theme "Developing Diverse e-Learning Supports to Promote Quality Education in Schools.
The booth featured over 20 live demonstrations and interactive trial zones, showcasing the deliverables of 22 funded projects that involve use of emerging technologies including AI, AR/VR, big data, the metaverse, etc. Besides, the Academy made use of the opportunity to introduce the series of training programmes and TechEd activities available for teachers and students, such as GenAI Art Application, Aviation Exploration, Maker Workshops, TecHunt Game, and Teacher Development Day, etc. which allow educators to experience and realise the latest learning resources and activities. After the opening ceremony on the first day, Dr Choi Yuk-lin, Secretary for Education and Dr David Wong Yau-kar, Chairman of The Education Commission, respectively visited the HKPC booth to understand the deliverables of different projects and engaged in short discussions with project representatives.
Ms Karen Fung, Chief Marketing Officer and General Manager, InnoPrenuer and FutureSkills of HKPC, said, "We work closely with QEF to promote the technology application in schools, enhancing teaching effectiveness and student motivation, and fostering the development of digital education. We fully support the measures in the HKSAR Government's 2024 Policy Address to popularise EdTech and expand the talent pool. Over the past year, the Academy has not only provided professional advice and guidance to funded institutions but also actively expanded market promotion strategies and established marketing networks. We are pleased to see that most projects funded by QEF are progressing well and are being piloted in leading schools. We encourage the education sector to actively join the 'School Trial Programme' to experience the benefits brought by e-learning. At the same time, we hope to enhance the information literacy of both teachers and students through EdTech and various AI-enhanced applications in education, thereby promoting the development of Smart Campuses."
The Academy booth this year featured interactive trial zone, display zone and a live broadcast zone, where representatives from 22 funded projects introduced the latest e-learning platforms and resources to visitors. The activities are as follows:
