HKPC to Stage Free Online “Sourcing Fair 2020”Boosts Local Tech Enterprises with Webinars + Business Matching for Sustainable Development

(Hong Kong, 6 October 2020) The “HKPC Sourcing Fair 2020”, a large-scale local sourcing event hosted by the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) and co-organised by SME ReachOut, will be held online on 13 October. Through a series of overarching free webinars, the Fair will exhibit HKPC and supporting organisations’ procurement needs on five major applied technologies, including big data, artificial intelligence (AI), 5G, IoT (Internet of Things), robotics, advanced material & machinery, and digital transformation. The one-on-one business matching service will also be in place to keep potential suppliers abreast of the latest and most updated technological offerings in the local market, as well as get to know the procurement needs of HKPC and other supporting organisations, in order to foster sourcing businesses and partnership.

Mr Willy Lin, Chairman of HKPC, said, “Given the prevailing pandemic and global economic uncertainties, SMEs and startups have been facing unprecedented difficulties in business operations. HKPC is committed to scaling local tech enterprises and SMEs for sustainable development. The ‘HKPC Sourcing Fair’ aims to join forces with other supporting organisations to drive local tech enterprises to take a great leap forward. It also enables suppliers to persistently provide products and services at high level and quality, thus contributing to strengthening Hong Kong’s position as an international innovation and technology hub.”

The event is jointly supported by eight major leading technology-based organisations in Hong Kong, including the Automotive Platforms and Application Systems R&D Centre, Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute, Cyberport, Electrical and Mechanical Services Department, Hong Kong Research Institute of Textiles and Apparels Limited, Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation, Logistics and Supply Chain MultiTech R&D Centre and Nano and Advanced Materials Institute.

During the event, representatives from the supporting organisations will join HKPC experts to shed light on the current and future tech development trend around the world in different thematic webinars. While the one-on-one business matching session serves to instantly address enterprises’ inquiries, the webinars will highlight the themes of big data, AI, 5G, IoT, robotics, advanced material & machinery, and digital transformation, to name a few. Enterprises can utilise the golden opportunity to exhibit their sophisticated products and services, promoting cooperation and exchanges, plus jointly unleashing the potential business opportunities therein.
