HKPC Organizes Certificate Courses to Enhance Capabilities of Local Designers

To help local designers enhance their design capabilities, the Productivity Training Institute (PTI) of the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) will organize two certificate courses in the coming months.

Certificate Course on 3D Computer Graphics and Modelling (13 July to 31 August 2006)

Local designers involved in graphic, interior and product design will be able to enhance their capabilities from this training course.

Mr Eric Ching, Principal Consultant (Productivity Training Institute) of HKPC, said, "Information Technology can enhance graphic, interior and product design by generating elaborate 3D computer drawings in a very short time."

With classes on Thursday evenings from 13 July to 31 August 2006 at the HKPC Building, the course will cover the use of 3D computer graphic software tools as well as current design trends. "Using the 3D theory, participants will be able to take advantages of these innovative graphic tools to create their own designs," Mr Ching added.

Certificate Programme in Interactive Game Design and Entertainment Production (27 July 2006 – 1 February 2007)

Those who would like to acquire the latest knowledge and skills in developing interactive games and educational entertainment software should not miss the opportunity to participate in a six-month training programme due to commence in July.

"With interactive games and educational entertainment software in great demand across the world, the ability to design and produce these products is definitely an advantage," Mr Ching said.

"Through the training programme, participants will be able to use multimedia tools, mix and match appropriate technical skills with their creative ideas to construct interactive games on the Internet. In addition, participants will also be equipped with the knowledge to develop powerful multimedia and a range of entertainment applications," he added.

Scheduled for 27 July 2006 to 1 February 2007, the training programme is specially designed for web and game developers, animators and graphic designers, as well as those who are interested in creating games and entertainment software.
