HKPC Organizes Free DTTN Seminars and Workshops for Local SMEs

The Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) will launch a programme to promote the use of the Digital Trade and Transportation Network (DTTN) platform by local SMEs in October 2007.

Sponsored by the Hong Kong Logistics Development Council and supported by over 30 trade associations from the logistics and information technology (IT) industries, the programme will include 9 seminars and 22 workshops for SMEs and three technical workshops for software developers.

Dr Lawrence Cheung, Principal Consultant, IT Industry Development Division of HKPC, said, "The adoption of IT can improve the competitiveness of the local logistics industry. This programme will go one step further by equipping SMEs with the IT skills in using DTTN as an open and secure e-platform for the exchange of trade documents."

"DTTN is an industry-wide platform that allows any company to reduce its costs and improve efficiency by providing quick interconnection with its trade, logistics, and finance partners through one single, low cost, digital link. This programme will accelerate the adoption of IT in logistics and related sectors in Hong Kong," he added.

A seminar to introduce the latest trend in logistics industry and the use and application of DTTN will be held on 24 October 2007 to kick off the programme.
