Vote of Confidence in Upholding Retail Service Standards

The Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) was re-appointed, 14 years in a row, as the assessor of the Hong Kong Tourism Board’s (HKTB) Quality Tourism Services (QTS) Scheme applicants and accredited merchants from the retail and catering industries for another three years till March 2013. This marks HKPC’s continuous dedication to improving the service standards of the retail industry.

Welcoming the news, Mr Raymond Cheng, General Manager (Business Management) of HKPC, said: “The appointment is indeed an endorsement of the professionalism of HKPC in supporting the local service sector in its pursuit for excellence over the years.”

“Since the launch of the scheme in 1999, over 7,100 outlets from the retail and catering sectors have been accredited under the Scheme. According to a survey conducted by the HKTB in 2009, around 90% of accredited merchants agreed that the QTS Scheme helped them maintain quality service and corporate image. Also, 94% of them were satisfied with the assessment system,” said Mr Cheng.

“Apart from the QTS Scheme, HKPC also played an important role in the development and implementation of industry-wide initiatives. These include the Quality Wedding Merchant Scheme and the Quality Elderly Service Scheme. In addition, HKPC provides tailor-made assessment services and employees training programmes for enterprises, enhancing their customer management knowledge.”
