HKPC Pavilion Showcases “Technology and Living”

To raise public awareness of the use of innovative technology in daily life, the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) will showcase fun-inspiring technologies developed by its experts at the InnoCarnival 2011. Organized by the Innovation and Technology Commission of the HKSAR Government, the extravaganza will be held from November 5 to 13 at the Hong Kong Science Park, Shatin.

Under the theme of “Technology and Living”, the HKPC Pavilion will be divided into three zones, namely ‘Quality Living’, ‘Green Living’ and ‘Creative Living’, to illustrate through exhibits and interactive games the innovative use of technology in daily life.

Mrs Agnes Mak, Executive Director of HKPC, said, “By developing and introducing innovative technologies, HKPC has been helping businesses to strengthen their competitiveness with added values to their products and services. For people in the street, they can benefit from the new consumer experience generated and applications, raising their quality of life, while driving a low-carbon economy and a greener living at the same time.”

“Visitors to the HKPC pavilion will have first-hand experience on the applications and creativity of our innovative technologies in different aspects of their daily lives. I hope they would have a better understanding of the R&D achievements of HKPC and local businesses,” she added.

At HKPC Pavilion, members of the public can sample the eye-opening technologies at the i-Auto simulator, to experience the latest safety, entertainment and lighting innovations for future automobile models. Also, visitors can try out the instant 3D photo capturing system and view images of themselves in 3D without the aid of 3D spectacles.

Other exhibits and technology demonstrations include in-situ high performance food waste conversion system, WaterSafe water purifying system, social media-based beat drugs platform for young people - “Let’s Face It” interactive games, and 3D interactive jewellery design system.

Located at Booth No. G02 on 1/F, Lakeside 2, East Wing, Hong Kong Science Park, the HKPC Pavilion opens from 10 am to 7 pm daily during the carnival.
