New HKPC Gallery Showcases Advanced Technologies and Productivity Services

Over the years, the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) has developed an array of innovative technologies for use in daily life, such as automatic idle stop and air conditioning system, intelligent automobile safety system, skin cancer detection technology, grey water recycling, and non-toxic non-stick coating for cookware.

To tie in with its 45th anniversary this year, the brand new HKPC Gallery is now open to introduce the works of HKPC in raising the competitiveness of the local business sector and the quality of living, through a lively and interactive display.

Located at the HKPC Building in Kowloon Tong, the HKPC Gallery consists of four zones, namely ‘Innovation and Enhancement’, ‘Testing & Certification’, ‘Low Carbon Manufacturing’ and ‘Quality Living’. Featuring interactive display kiosks, exhibits and case studies, the Gallery presents HKPC’s support for enterprises. Also, visitors can experience first-hand the applications of HKPC’s latest innovative technologies in different aspects of their daily lives.

Mrs Agnes Mak, Executive Director of HKPC, recently received the first group of visitors - 25 students from different secondary schools. She said, “In more than four decades, Hong Kong industry has evolved from family-based operations to a high technology and value-added production model. HKPC has always moved with times to help businesses sharpen their competitiveness. Many of our services have directly enhanced the quality of living in Hong Kong. We would continue to partner with industry in opening new horizons.”

HKPC is a multi-disciplinary organization established by Statute in 1967. Its mission is to promote productivity excellence through the provision of integrated support across the value chain of Hong Kong firms, in order to achieve a more effective utilization of resources, to enhance the value- added content of products and services, and to increase international competitiveness.
