HKPC and HKSTPC Step Up Testing Support for Electronics and ICT Industries

The Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) and the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTPC) jointly launch a one-stop testing and technical support service to help the local electronics industry to comply with stringent international regulatory and to meet rising demands for smart products.

Mrs Agnes Mak, Executive Director of HKPC, said, “Smart gadgets and green electronics are all the rage which have driven up the demand for precision testing in product design and development from high-value adding industries. Leveraging the professional expertise and advanced testing facilities of HKPC and HKSTPC, this collaboration will offer comprehensive support to the industry. Enterprises will benefit from the shortened product-to-market cycle, and enhance their competitiveness.

Mr E. Anthony Tan, Chief Executive Officer of HKSTPC, said, “We are delighted to jointly launch this testing support with HKPC as a timely initiative to answer the ever-increasing needs from the growing industry. Combining the state-of-the-art testing infrastructure and strengths of both organisations, this testing support will not only raise the overall standard of electronic products in Hong Kong, but also further strengthen the city’s presence as a regional hub for ICT technology. ”

From now on, electronics, integrated circuit technology, precision engineering, green technology and biotechnology practitioners can simply contact HKPC or HKSTPC to get testing support, ranging from wireless communications, material analysis to electronics reliability, from both organizations.

A seminar entitled “New Generation Smart, Auto and Green Product Development” will be held at HKPC on 10 May to introduce the full range of testing and technical support services under the HKPC and HKSTPC collaboration.
