HKPC Releases 2022-2023 “Environmental, Social and Governance Report” Endeavouring to Help Hong Kong Achieve Sustainability and Build a Green Future

(Hong Kong, 23 May 2024) Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) is pleased to release 2022-2023 “Environmental, Social and Governance Report”, which showcases the solid achievements of HKPC in four key areas as of 31 March 2023 – contributing to a greener environment, supporting to the development of the industry and community, corporate sustainability governance, and caring for employees. It demonstrates HKPC's unwavering commitment to responding to the policies of the nation and HKSAR Governments, using innovation and technology (I&T) as a driving force to accelerate the development of new productive forces, while relentlessly upholding the belief of sustainability. This will make important contributions to driving Hong Kong's transformation into a more prosperous and greener smart city.

Hon Sunny TAN, Chairman of HKPC, said, “Recognising the significance of sustainable development in addressing global challenges like climate change and energy crisis, HKPC has pledged full support for ‘Hong Kong’s Climate Action Plan 2050’, ‘Carbon Neutrality Partnership’, and ‘3060 Dual Carbon Targets’. Aligned with the vision of the HKSAR Government to halve Hong Kong’s carbon emissions by 2035 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, HKPC pledges to reach this target at HKPC Building by as early as 2040. As Hong Kong propels the development of new productive forces and steps into the era of new industrialisation, HKPC remains steadfast in applying green technologies and innovative solutions, formulating a comprehensive low-carbon transformation roadmap, providing extensive support to industry in terms of I&T, new industrialisation, green development, and Government funding, to develop Hong Kong into an international I&T centre and an international green finance centre, as well as position it as a world-leading livable smart city. Moving forward, we will continue to boost business, grow the economy, protect the environment, and fulfil our environmental, social and governance (ESG) responsibilities. This will contribute to a sustainable and low-carbon future for Hong Kong.”
