HKPC Organizes Training Courses for Apparel and TV Programming Professionals

To enhance the capabilities of local professionals in apparel management and TV programming, the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) will organize two training programmes in the coming months.

Certificate Course on the Development and Marketing of Lingerie and Sleepwear (18 July – 11 August 2006)

Apparel executives who would like to upgrade their skills for career advancement should not miss the opportunity to participate in a tailor-made training course offered by HKPC's Productivity Training Institute (PTI).

Mr Eric Ching, Principal Consultant (PTI) of HKPC, said, "With the implementation of CEPA, China's accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO), as well as the abolition of the textile and clothing quotas since 1 January 2005, Hong Kong's apparel companies are likely to capture more business opportunities and, at the same time, face keener competition. To stay competitive, apparel executives must enhance their technical and business knowledge to cater to the changing market situation. This course aims to provide them with comprehensive knowledge on marketing lingerie and sleepwear, preparing them for the new challenge ahead."

Scheduled for 18 July to 11 August 2006, the course will cover the latest trends in lingerie and sleepwear, design and material selection, as well as marketing management.

Television broadcasters on the Mainland are making preparations to beam the 2008 Olympic Games in HD format. Locally, the two terrestrial television stations, have made plans to transmit HDTV signals by 2007."

"Through this Diploma course, participants will be able to acquire the skills of HDTV programming and learn the complete workflow of HD production from shooting, editing, mastering to HD DVD production. In addition, they will have the opportunity to use several emerging HD formats such as HDV and XDCAM HD," Mr Ching said.

Running from 12 September to 16 November 2006, the course will include basic video production, basic edition technique, shooting and editing in studio, HD production group projects and presentations.
