Lifelong Learning Key to Business Survival

The Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) today (22 November 2007) launches its Business Management Training Centre (BMTC) as a partner for lifelong learning for local enterprises to address their concern over the lack of business talents.

Highlighting the role of BMTC, Mr Wilson Fung, Executive Director of HKPC, said, "To help enterprises enhance their human capital and to nurture a new generation of business executives, BMTC offers the first comprehensive talent development training programme based on the Malcolm Baldrige framework, which is the blueprint for over 80 quality awards in the world, including the China Quality Award."

A seminar on 'Lifelong Learning for Knowledge-based Organizations' was held today to mark the launch of BMTC which will complement HKPC's consultancy service for local enterprises to adopt the Malcolm Baldrige performance excellence model. Keynote speakers included Mr Philip Chen, Deputy Chairman of Cathay Pacific Airways and Chairman of John Swire & Sons (China) Ltd, and Mr Shih Wing Ching, Chairman of Centaline (Holdings) Company Limited. More than 450 business executives attended the event.
