HKPC Helps Hong Kong Industry Attain ‘Productivity for Prosperity’

With uncertainties reigning over the global economy, the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) will continue to establish support platforms, create values for SMEs, and sharpen its core competencies in technology transfer and application to provide timely services for industry, says Mr Clement Chen, Chairman of HKPC.

In his message published in the HKPC 2010/11 Annual Report, tabled today (16 November 2011) at the Legislative Council, Mr Chen said, “We need to always get prepared so that we respond swiftly whenever a change comes up. Over the years, HKPC has moved with times to meet the needs of industry and help SMEs bridge the skills and technology gap for enhancing global competitiveness.”

Under the theme of “Productivity for Prosperity”, the Report reviewed the Council’s support to industry to overcome challenges and seize new opportunities by realigning its strategy and services, and expanding its support network on the Mainland in 2010/11.

Mrs Agnes Mak, Executive Director of HKPC, said, “Our services have particular focus on helping our industry capture business opportunities and meet the challenges of the 12th Five-Year Plan, which places far greater emphasis on boosting domestic demand, sustainable development as well as industrial upgrading. Efforts are also dedicated to refreshing our own brand such that our services shall be made known to a wider group of stakeholders, particularly the next generation industrialists who are facing the challenges arising from business transition.”

Looking ahead, Mr Chen said, “Forging ahead into its 45th anniversary, HKPC will endeavour to remain as the preferred partner of the industry.”
