“Retail Technology Adoption Assistance Scheme for Manpower Demand Management” 1st Year Update

<p>The Retail Technology Adoption Assistance Scheme for Manpower Demand Management (ReTAAS) has approved funding of around 80 per cent of its processed applications since its launch in last December. The total amount of funding approved is $3.23 million up to the end of November 2015.</p>
<p>A spokesperson for the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC), Secretariat of the scheme, reminds retailers that the next cut-off time for applications will be 30 January 2016.</p>

<p>由香港生產力促進局(生產力局)、香港工業總會(工總)及珠三角工業協會聯合主辦的第十四屆「香港珠三角工商界合作交流會」,今天(2015年12月4日)在江門舉行。為配合活動,主辦機構舉辦「企業創新與可持續發展研討會」,探討如何以科技創新及將企業社會責任融入業務發展策略,以持續發展。</p>
<p>生產力局主席劉展灝及工總主席鄭文聰教授在研討會上致開幕辭,江門市人民政府商務局局長周文則介紹當地的發展優勢和機遇。</p>
<p>劉展灝表示:「企業一方面要不斷鞏固品牌的價值,但同時亦要不斷創新,才能配合營商環境的轉變,令業務持續發展。企業創新的其中一個重要方向,就是將互聯網和智能技術,結合實體經濟和傳統製造,從而邁進高效益及可持續發展的營運模式。」</p>
<p>他續說:「生產力局一直積極支持企業升級轉型,同時亦為業界探索前瞻性的發展方向。本局在今年先後設立了『3D打印體驗廊』及『智能機器人中心』,稍後亦會繼續推展智能製造的支援服務,以及『中國製造2025』與『工業4.0』方向下的相關服務。生產力局期望能夠與江門市政府及業界更深入、更全面地合作,支持江港兩地產業升級轉型。」</p>

<p>The Enterprise Support Programme (&ldquo;ESP&rdquo;) of the Dedicated Fund on Branding, Upgrading and Domestic Sales (the BUD Fund) launched the &ldquo;ESP Easy &ndash; Simplified Application Track&rdquo; (&ldquo;ESP Easy&rdquo;) in August 2015 aims to help eligible enterprises apply for funding through simplified application procedures for implementing specified measures to assist them in enhancing their competitiveness in the Mainland and developing the domestic market.

'Made by Hong Kong' Electric Bus Makes Local Debut

<p>The Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) today (26 October 2015) launched the first-ever 'Made by Hong Kong' electric bus - the R&amp;D result of a close to $40 million R&amp;D project commencing August 2013. It is funded by the Innovation and Technology Fund of the HKSAR Government through the Hong Kong Automotive Parts and Accessory Systems (APAS) R&amp;D Centre, and sponsorship from the project partner Green Dynamic Electric Vehicle Limited#.</p>

<p>The Enterprise Support Programme of the Dedicated Fund on Branding, Upgrading and Domestic Sales (the BUD Fund) has processed a total of 1,011 applications up to 13 October 2015, amongst which 349 applications were approved/granted conditional approval (around 35%). The total amount of funding approved is about $157 million.</p>

<p>The &ldquo;Standard Chartered Hong Kong SME Leading Business Index&rdquo; (Standard Chartered SME Index) for the third quarter of 2015 has slightly increased 0.6 points to 49.6. Announcing the survey findings today (22 July 2015), the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) noted that the business outlook among local SMEs remains slightly bearish as the Index fails to rebound above the 50 no-change mark.
